WALK THROUGH THE DUNES TO THE BEACH
A MUST-DO BERGEN EXPERIENCE
One of my absolute favourite things to do in Bergen is simply to walk from the house all the way to the sea. (Between 38 and 40 there is the Johan Cruyfflaantje from there your start)
Step outside at Eeuwigelaan 48A and head straight into the forest and dunes. From here, beautiful walking paths take you through the woods, across the dunes and eventually down to the wide, natural beach of Bergen aan Zee.
No boulevard, no high-rise buildings — just dunes, sand and the North Sea.
Make Strandpaviljoen NOORD your destination. Take your time, stop for coffee or lunch with your feet almost in the sand, and enjoy the walk back through the dunes.
From forest to dunes to sea — all from your front door. This is Bergen at its best.

WATCH AN ARTHOUSE MOVIE IN THE FOREST
CINEBERGEN – CINEMA, BUT DIFFERENT
Hidden between the trees in the Bergerbos, you’ll find Cinebergen, a small arthouse cinema showing a carefully selected programme of international films, documentaries and independent cinema.
The setting makes it extra special: it feels like watching a movie in a little shed in the middle of the forest.
Walk or cycle there, see a film and have a drink before or afterwards surrounded by trees.
International arthouse cinema in the forest — very Bergen.

CYCLE THROUGH THE FOREST & DUNES TO THE SEA
ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO EXPERIENCE BERGEN
Grab a bicycle and disappear into the forest.
From the house you can cycle straight into the beautiful forests and dunes surrounding Bergen. Follow the winding cycle paths through the trees and over the dunes towards Bergen aan Zee, or make a longer trip to Schoorl aan Zee or Egmond aan Zee.
Some of my favourite routes:
Bergen → Bergen aan Zee
The classic ride through forest and dunes, ending at the beach for coffee or lunch.
Bergen → Schoorl → Schoorl aan Zee
A beautiful longer ride through the Schoorlse Duinen, with some of the highest dunes in the Netherlands.
Bergen → Egmond aan Zee
Cycle south through the dunes and reward yourself with lunch or a drink by the sea.
No cars, no busy roads — just endless cycle paths, forest, dunes and the North Sea.
Take a bike, choose a direction and get a little lost. That’s part of the Bergen experience.
